Aquadillos Swim Team
The Aquadillos Swim Team is a competitive summer league swim team in Georgetown, Texas. It is a great swim team for children from 4-17 years of age, whether this is your first time in competitive swimming or an accomplished swimmer. Upon beginning with the team, new swimmers will be assessed for their ability to complete a length of the pool (25 yards) using any stroke to determine readiness for the program. Our program focuses on teaching competitive elements of swimming including proper stroke technique, starts, and turns. It is expected that all swimmers will compete regularly in meets. Awards are given for individual improvements. It's fun, the races are short distances, and our athletes learn to become better swimmers.
We are a member of the Northwest Swim Circuit, a 13 team league in the Austin area. We compete in Division I, the top division, of this league. Our season lasts 10 weeks, beginning the first week of May until mid-July. We swim 6 dual meets per season on Saturday mornings against other swim teams in the Austin area. We have a championship meet at the completion of our dual meets. At the end of the season, swimmers who have obtained a qualifying time during the season are invited to compete at an Invitational Swim Meet held at Texas A&M University.
After school practice begins on April 29, at the Village Pool. Once school is out, practices switch to the mornings and and are held at the Williams Drive Pool for the remainder of the season.
